Non-league striker aims to make his mark in the professional ranks

Skysports.com understands Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of Mustafa Tiryaki from non-league Havant and Waterlooville. The 24-year-old impressed manager Les Parry with an eye-catching performance against a Liverpool XI earlier this week in which Tiryaki scored in a 2-0 win. He has been rewarded with a one-year contract with the option of another year should he make the adjustment to the professional ranks. Tiryaki, who was born in England to Turkish parents, notched seven goals in 13 appearances for Havant last term with his robust approach of play. He had a trial with Scunthorpe earlier this summer where he just failed to win a contract as they were concerned he was too similar to strikers they already had. Tiryaki was later invited down to Tranmere for a trial game but a bout of food poisoning prevented him from displaying his best form. Parry, however, asked him to return and was delighted by his display against a scratch Liverpool side, and has rewarded him with a deal.
