Bridges unsure of Leeds future

Leeds United striker Michael Bridges has revealed he is becoming unsure of his future at the club after failing to be offered a new deal.

The former Sunderland hit-man is out of contract at the end of the campaign, and is eager to commit his long-term future to the Elland Road outfit.

However, with The Whites' financial plight in a precarious situation, the club are keeping all contract renegotiations on hold until investor or takeover talks are concluded.

Bridges burst onto the scene with Leeds after a £5 million move from Sunderland, however his last two and a half season have been blighted with injury and lack of fitness.

"Leeds looked after me in my run of injuries and I'd like nothing better than to repay them on the field," said Bridges.

"But I've been confused and concerned at the way things have been left.

"I have to think about my future now."

Meanwhile, Leeds chairman Professor John McKenzie is reportedly set to resign his role with the club in order to piece together a rescue package for the debt-ridden club.

McKenzie is stepping down in order to avoid allegations of a conflict of interest, should a buyer be found, as he possess four million shares in the company.
