Leeds United have reject a bid totalling £16m for striker Chris Wood from an unnamed Premier League club, according to Sky sources.

It is understood Burnley have already had a £12m bid rejected for the 25-year-old, but Sky sources understand the latest bid is not from the Clarets, who have still to confirm they made the earlier offer.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is in the market for a striker to replace Andre Gray who earlier this week joined Watford for a club-record fee, believed to be in the region of £18m.

The New Zealand striker was Leeds' player-of-the-year last season after hitting 30 goals for the Championship side and has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs during the summer.

Head coach Thomas Christiansen has included highly-rated Wood, who is two years into the four-year deal he signed when arriving from Leicester City, in his squad to face Preston on Saturday.
