Leicester first-team coach Mike Stowell says Brendan Rodgers spoke to the players in the dressing room after their 2-1 win over Brighton on Tuesday night.
Rodgers received a warm reception from the home supporters as he took his seat inside the King Power Stadium - just an hour after he was officially announced as the successor to Claude Puel.
Stowell, who was placed in caretaker charge for the Brighton game, says the former Celtic boss came down to tell the players he was proud of their performance.
"He's pleased," Stowell told Sky Sports.
"He just spoke to the lads in the dressing room. He was proud of them and liked the spirit and he promised them there are special things on the horizon.
"The atmosphere has lifted with a win and with the new manager because I'm sure he'll bring a lot of good things and he's got a lot of staff with him. It's exciting times."
Leicester's win over Brighton was their first since New Year's Day and Stowell admits the players were feeling the nerves after Davy Propper pulled a goal back for the visitors to make it 2-1 in the 66th minute.
He added: "We looked nervy at times but when you've gone seven games without winning you get nervy. We were good today - we played through them.
"We're at home and we know we need to win games. The back four were solid tonight but it's good for Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray to get a goal each too."
