Dons admit Thomson interest
Skovdahl's hunt for a new striker has intensified, after Moroccan striker Hicham Zerouali joined team-mate Robbie Winters in rejecting a new contract.
The Dons now face the prospect of losing Eugene Dadi, Zerouali and Winters on Bosman transfers in the summer, which is one reason behind the Thomson interest.
"We have been to watch him but it is too early to say anything about it," said Skovdahl.
SPL rivals Motherwell are also keen to recruit Thomson, as they see him as the ideal replacement for the sacked David Kelly.
Despite his interest in Thomson, Skovdahl remains confident about keeping his contract rebels.
"We have decided to take one player at a time and we are dealing with Robbie," added the Dons coach.
"We have also spoken to Hicham and he has also turned down the first offer.
"Robbie will continue to play for us - if his performances are good enough.
"If you let any emotion come into it then you are on the wrong track.
"In professional football you have to work to a limited budget and sometimes it is not possible to agree terms. In Robbie's case it has not been decided yet. We have not put a specific date on it yet but we would like to know soon."
