CULKIN TO FOLLOW HOLLOWAY TO QPR?

SPECULATION is mounting that Queens Park Rangers could be set to launch a transfer raid on Bristol Rovers after Gerry Francis was spotted in the crowd during the Pirates' clash with Luton Town on Saturday.

The Rangers' director of football was reported to have spent the game furiously taking notes and it is believed that the players in which he was taking an interest in, included Latvian star Vitalijs Astafjevs, right back Marcus Bignot and on-loan Manchester United keeper Nicky Culkin.

Ian Holloway, the former Rovers boss who is now in charge at Loftus Road, is known to have approached Sir Alex Ferguson about the prospect of signing Culkin permanently, before being sacked by The Pirates earlier this season.

It would now seem that Holloway is looking to make the 22-year-old shot-stopper his first signing since taking over at QPR.
