Burnley forward Jay Rodriguez has admitted it came as a surprise to be named in the Championship PFA Team of the Year.
The Clarets' top scorer took one of the striking berths alongside Southampton's Rickie Lambert in the
divisional side, which was announced at the annual awards ceremony on Sunday night.
Rodriguez did not expect to get a place in the XI and was delighted to attend the PFA event.
"It was a shock when I got the phone call to say that I had been chosen," the 22-year-old told his club's
official website.
"It took a bit of time to sink in but when it did I really appreciated it and it means a lot to me.
"The fact that it's the players and the players you compete against who voted makes it special and I am really chuffed.
"To be named alongside the players who are in there is a great honour and it was a fantastic night, to be around people like Robin van Persie is something special."
