Sean Dyche's former Chesterfield team-mate Nicky Law is to join Burnley in a youth-recruitment role, his current club Alfreton have announced.
Law, 55, has been in charge of National League North side Alfreton for almost a decade but the Reds have confirmed he will leave Derbyshire next month to become Burnley's head of national recruitment for the U17-23 age group.
Sky Bet Championship defenders Aden Flint and Kyle McFadzean were two young players to blossom under Law's tutelage at Alfreton, and Dyche is keen to develop more players for the Clarets' first team at their training ground, where a £10.6m revamp is nearing completion.
Law played for Chesterfield between 1993 and 1996, during which time one of his club colleagues was Burnley boss Dyche.
"The offer came in and it was to start on February 1 but I've been allowed to stay with Alfreton until February 4 to allow a smooth transition," Law explained on Alfreton's official website.
"It's been an extremely tough decision for me, this club means a heck of a lot and I've been through so much, the highs and the lows.
"I needed to think about the next 10 years and where I want to be. Being able to move to a club like Burnley and deal with national recruitment for young players, and in turn develop young players, was a great challenge for me and one I wanted to take on."
