Defender shocked and devastated after Keane meeting
Ipswich Town defender David Wright is on the hunt for a new club after being told by Roy Keane that he has no future at Portman Road.
Wright has been in and out of the Town side this season but has started the last two games at right-back and was confident of being offered a new deal.
He is therefore surprised that he is now set to search for a club for next season as Keane is looking in a different direction.
He told the Ipswich Evening Star: "It has come as a shock and I'm devastated.
"I thought I'd done enough to be offered a new deal.
"I saw the manager on Tuesday and he said some nice things about me, but that he was looking in a new direction.
"It is not a decision I agree with, but I have to respect it."
