Transfer news: Ashley Cole's agent says talk of Crystal Palace move for Roma defender is a 'disgrace'

Ashley Cole's agent has rubbished reports that the defender is looking to leave Roma in January, branding the reports linking him with a move to Crystal Palace as a "disgrace".
The former England left-back signed a two-year deal with Roma in the summer but has not played for the Giallorossi since November 22.
He has been left out recently in favour of Jose Holebas and reports emerged this morning that Palace, where Cole had a spell on loan in 2000, were interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.
However, David Mannaseh, managing director of Stellar Group, the agency that represents Cole, said he has no intention of leaving Roma.
“Ashley is loving life in Italy and in Rome. He has never been happier,” he is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"Whoever has given this information out is a disgrace because all it does is give fans of a football club false hope.
"Ashley is concentrating on trying to win trophies in Italy and, in particular, Serie A this season. Nothing else."
Cole made 14 appearances for Palace while on loan in 2000 but it is thought he would have to take a significant wage cut to return to Selhurst Park.
