Cardiff City have signed former Leeds United captain Sol Bamba.

The centre-back, who left Leeds in September for personal reasons, has signed a contract which keeps him at the Bluebirds until the summer of 2018.

Bamba began his career with Paris Saint-Germain, before playing for Dunfermline, Hibernian, Leicester and then Leeds.

Warnock said: "I tried to sign Sol a few years ago when he was at Leicester, on a couple of occasions. They didn't come off then, but now is the right time and opportunity to bring him in.

"Sol's a leader and he's another good addition for us."
