Former Bolton and Baggies man to land Wednesday job
Skysports.com understands that Gary Megson is set to be named Sheffield Wednesday's new manager.
The Owls are on the lookout for a new man at the helm following Alan Irvine's departure after a miserable run culminated in a 5-3 midweek loss to Peterborough.
The defeat leaves the Hillsborough outfit 12th in the League One ladder, a position well below the club's ambitions of promotion this term.
Wednesday owner Milan Mandaric, who brought Megson to Leicester in September 2007, has confirmed his interest in the ex-Bolton boss.
Highly-rated
Megson lasted just six weeks at The Walkers Stadium before jumping ship to the Premier League, although Mandaric still rates him highly.
"I'm interested in Gary, but whether he gets job, that's different," he said.
"He's top drawer and has tremendous experience. I rate him highly.
"He's the only manager who has earned me money thanks to the compensation I received for him."
