Knight spurred on by Owls snub

LEON KNIGHT has revealed that his feud with Sheffield Wednesday boss Chris Turner provided him with the spark needed to kick-start his career.

Turner left Knight to rot in The Owls' reserves during a loan spell at Hillsborough last term, and the 21-year-old claims it spurred him on to resurrect his career.

Knight has since joined Brighton and he came back to haunt Turner and Wednesday by netting for The Seagulls on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Knight said: "Chris Turner can say what he likes, but I'm not interested.

"What went on at Wednesday gave me an extra spur to get out and show the manager what I'm capable of - and what he's missed out on.

"Turner had to do what he had to do. I wasn't in his plans so he just left me out of the side.

"As far as I'm concerned the issue is dead - until we play Wednesday at their place."
