Fernando Forestieri and Sam Hutchinson have signed new deals with Sheffield Wednesday.

Striker Forestieri and defender Hutchinson are both now committed to Wednesday until the summer of 2020.

News of Forestieri's extension caps a remarkable U-turn from the Italian, who refused to play for the Owls away at Norwich City in August after attracting interest from fellow Sky Bet Championship sides Derby County and Newcastle United.

He issued a full apology to the club and its fans following the 0-0 draw at Carrow Road and was quickly reintegrated into the first-team squad by manager Carlos Carvalhal.

Forestieri scored 15 goals last season as Wednesday reached the Championship play-off final, where they lost 1-0 to Hull City at Wembley, and has netted a further six times this campaign.
