Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Algeria international midfielder Ahmed Kashi from French club FC Metz for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract at The Valley and becomes manager Guy Luzon's fourth major addition of the summer, following the arrivals of Simon Makienok, Patrick Bauer and El-Hadji Ba.
Kashi, who linked up with his new Charlton team-mates in Belgium last week, enjoyed three seasons with Metz, making 86 appearances for the club and scoring once.
He began his career with French side LB Chateauroux in 2007, where he became a regular in their midfield before sealing a move to Metz.
Kashi was also part of the Algeria squad for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations and made his international debut at the competition in Equatorial Guinea, coming off the bench to feature in a group stage match against Senegal.
