Defender in talks over Pride Park switch
Derby are close to sealing a deal for Plymouth Argyle defender Paul Connolly.
Connolly has held talks with Derby after seeing out his contract at Home Park.
Rams boss Paul Jewell is keen to tie up the move quickly and he says the 24-year-old is determined to make the move to Pride Park.
Talks
"Paul is available on a Bosman in the summer so we spoke to (Plymouth boss) Paul Sturrock to ask permission to talk to the player," Jewell told the club's
official website.
"We have done that and hopefully we can conclude a deal pretty quickly.
"He is keen to come and fits the bill as he is six feet one, athletic and hungry.
"Paul is a fighter, and that is what I want to bring, as well as quality which he has got."
