Wigan Athletic have signed defender Jack Hendry from Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle for an undisclosed fee.
The highly-rated 20-year-old has signed a four-year deal at the DW Stadium after successfully completing a medical ahead of the transfer deadline.
Hendry joined Thistle in 2014 after coming through the ranks at Dundee United.
The young defender made five first-team appearances at Firhill after making his debut in May and actually featured against Wigan in a pre-season fixture in Glasgow in July.
"Jack impressed that night and he is definitely one for the future, a defender with huge potential and he's one we have been watching," manager Gary Caldwell told www.wiganlatics.co.uk.
"There were other clubs interested so we're delighted he has chosen to come to us. Let's hope he can start realising his potential with us at Wigan Athletic."
A statement on ptfc.co.uk said: "Everyone at Partick Thistle wishes Jack all the best for his future and hope he has every success with his new club."
