Latics star confident of avoiding drop
Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega reckons his rock bottom side can upset the odds by inflicting further misery on Chelsea.
The Blues, still reeling from the UEFA Champions League defeat against Manchester United, have been the nemesis of Wigan after dishing out 8-0 and 6-0 thrashings in their last two meetings.
But Rodallega insists those games are history as he looks to fire Wigan to Premier League safety.
The Colombian star is confident the Latics can get the wins they need to survive - starting at Stamford Bridge.
Difficult
He said: "All the effort Chelsea put into their European match could affect them.
"We know they are favourites but, no matter how difficult this match might be, we can win.
"Our big defeats against Chelsea are history. I only live in the present.
"In those games we have failed in all departments - while Chelsea were successful in front of goal. It doesn't always work like that.
"And nothing is impossible. Statistics are there to be broken and everyone at Wigan is dreaming of three points in London."
Tight
Earning an unlikely victory could see Roberto Martinez's men leap off the bottom and out of the drop zone for the first time since early February.
But, with just three points separating the bottom seven, Rodallega is confident Wigan will climb clear by the end of the season.
He added: "It's tight but I can see a difficult season having a happy ending.
"Thirty one points might suggest we're the worst team in the Premier League but I don't believe that.
"We can get out of trouble."
