Warnock denies Jewell feud
The two men meet when their sides play each other in Tuesday's top-of-the-table clash in Division One.
Jewell was manager of the Blades' city rivals Sheffield Wednesday when he last went head-to-head with Warnock.
A war of words between the two men was sparked after Wednesday knocked United out of the Worthington Cup.
But despite this, Warnock says he has no bad feelings towards Jewell.
"After derbies, a lot of things can be said in the heat of the moment," Warnock told the Yorkshire Post.
"I wasn't having a go at Paul's managerial ability - Sheffield Wednesday were just going through a bad spell and, in the circumstances, I don't think any manager would have had a good time.
"He has gone away, regrouped and realised that it's not all doom and gloom in management.
"His teams play very much like mine do - although his are probably better defensively. We have spoken a number of times since he left Sheffield and we get on alright," said Warnock.
Meanwhile Sheffield United are tracking Birmingham goalkeeper Ian Bennett as a replacement for Paul Gerrard, whose loan from Everton finishes at the end of the month, before first choice stopper Paddy Kenny returns from injury.
