Fulham have signed goalkeeper David Button from rival Sky Bet Championship side Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

Button, 27, has penned a three-year deal with the option for a further 12 months.

The Tottenham Hotspur trainee had 13 loan spells away from White Hart Lane, including Shewsbury Town and Plymouth Argyle, before moving to Charlton in 2012.

He joined the Bees in 2013 and made 141 appearances after establishing himself as first choice.

The former England youth international joins the Cottagers after the departures of goalkeepers Maarten Stekelenburg and Andy Lonergan to Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.

Brentford boss Dean Smith said: "I have nothing but respect for the way he acquits himself to his profession and his departure will leave big gloves to fill.

"But I feel we have replacements in Daniel Bentley and Jack Bonham who are eager to fill the position that David had made his own."
