Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
The 31-year-old becomes boss Aitor Karanka's eighth senior signing of the summer and he has agreed a two-year deal with the club.
The USA international, who played every game for his country as they reached the Copa America semi-final this summer, made 34 appearances for Villa last season.
Guzan has been at Villa for seven years and he is the second goalkeeper to arrive in the transfer window following former Barcelona and Manchester United 'keeper Victor Valdes.
They will battle with last season's first choice keeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos for the No 1 shirt.
Guzan could make his debut in Saturday's friendly match at Villa, a potential instant return to his former club.
Middlesbrough have signed Viktor Fischer, Marten de Roon, Antonio Barragan, Alvaro Negredo, Gaston Ramirez and Bernardo Espinosa during the summer transfer window as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.
Guzan has made 170 first-team appearances for Aston Villa since his transfer to the club from Mexican team Chivas in August 2008.
He also has 50 international caps for the United States.
