Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini praised his side's "professional" performance at Everton, and says they have learned lessons from last season.
Aleksandar Kolarov and Samir Nasri gave City a 2-0 win at Goodison Park on Sunday as they maintained their perfect start to the season and moved back to the top of the Premier League table.
It was City's ninth top-flight victory in succession and means they have scored eight goals without reply so far this season. Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Pellegrini was delighted with what he saw.
"I think that was a very professional performance," he said. "We played a very difficult team here at Goodison Park.
"During both halves, I think we were a very consistent and solid team. We had more chances to score than Everton.

"We scored two goals, again we keep a clean sheet, so I think we are working very well as a team, defending and attacking."
Pellegrini added: "The Premier League, when you play away, is always tough.
"That's why we analyse what happened last season - I always said it was not a disaster that we finished in second place.
"But we were not consistent during the whole year - we lost many points teams that were in the relegation positions."
Pellegrini's men find out their Champions League group in the draw on Thursday, and the City boss knows they are about to enter a busy period, so using the depth of his squad is key.
"It's very important to understand that we are just starting the season and we've played just three games," he said.
"After Watford, we are going to start playing eight games every month, so it's very important to have the squad involved."
