Defender pens four-year deal with Bundesliga side
Jerome Boateng has completed his move from Manchester City to German giants Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old only moved to the Etihad Stadium last season in a £10million switch from Hamburg but failed to hold down a first-team place.
The Germany international only made 16 appearances for Roberto Mancini's men, with even fewer of those in his preferred position of centre-back, and so has been linked with a move away from the club for some time.
Bayern have been long-term admirers of the player, but the major sticking point in negotiations appeared to be the transfer fee.
At one stage it looked like the deal would collapse, with Boateng even flying to North America for City's pre-season tour.
However, an agreement was struck late last week and Boateng has since flown to Germany to undergo a medical and finalise terms on a four-year contract.
