Mancini praises 'fantastic' keeper

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has predicted that Joe Hart will become one of the best English goalkeepers in history. Hart has established himself as Fabio Capello's No.1 this season, whilst also enjoying an impressive campaign at club level. Having dislodged Shay Given as Mancini's first-choice keeper, Hart has kept 22 clean sheets in 45 appearances for City this term to put him within four of Nicky Weaver's club record. He is still only 23, though, and Mancini feels sure he will go from strength to strength over the next decade as he gains experience. "Joe Hart could become one of the top English keepers in history," said the Blues chief.

Room to improve

"He is young and he is strong. Like everyone, he makes mistakes but that is normal when you are young. "Maybe sometimes he worries too much when he has the ball. But he is getting better with every game. "Also, you have to remember, this is the first year he played for a club who were competing for the title. "Last season was the first time he played for a full year in the Premier League, with Birmingham. "He is already a fantastic keeper and he can still improve a lot."
