Former Newcastle midfielder Nolberto Solano has lamented eight trophy-less seasons at St James' Park.

Former Newcastle midfielder Nolberto Solano has spoken of his regret at not lifting any silverware during his time at the club.
Solano left The Magpies for West Ham on Friday - two years to the day since he re-signed from Aston Villa - after spending almost eight seasons with the club.
The Peruvian lamented the lack of trophies while he has at St James' Park, and insisted that he would have loved to have rewarded the patient and committed Newcastle supporters.
Regret
"I only have one regret about my time at Newcastle United, and that is I did not help give the fans the trophy they deserve," Solano said.
"I have to say the Newcastle supporters were great to me and I can honestly say I always tried my best for them."
Solano explained that the combination of a potential lack of first-team football, and wanting to be nearer to his family, meant he had no choice but to leave Tyneside.
"The only reason I wanted to leave was because of my family, and they all seemed to understand that. My family is very important to me," Solano added.
"They are in London and that's the only reason I wanted to go down there."
"Looking at the great squad Newcastle have got, I accepted I would not play that many matches this season and for that reason - and my family - I thought it was best to go when West Ham came back in for me."
