Yasin Ben El-Mhanni is set to be released by Newcastle despite still waiting to have an appeal heard over his allegations against Peter Beardsley.

The 22-year-old was one of 15 Newcastle youth team players told their contracts will not be renewed on Thursday.

Ben El-Mhanni, whose current contract is up at the end of the season, alleged youth coach Beardsley made discriminatory remarks and bullied him.

Beardsley has taken time away from the Academy as the investigation, which is likely to be concluded before the end of the season, continues.

Following an original investigation in January, Newcastle rejected some of the allegations made by Ben El-Mhanni, who has subsequently launched an appeal.
