Spanish defender likes the look of young hopeful
Carlos Cuellar has predicted his Aston Villa team-mate Ciaran Clark will enjoy a great future in the game.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the beacons of light in what has been a challenging campaign for Villa.
Clark has momentarily left behind the woes of domestic football and is set to play for the Republic of Ireland against Uruguay on Tuesday.
This type of quality football will only serve to enhance Clark's apprenticeship and make the former Rangers defender's assessment a reality.
Defenders
"He is one of the best defenders I have played with. He is superb," Cuellar said.
"He is young but he has some amazing assets. He is quick, he has good technique, he can play, he can tackle and he's good in the air.
"He's got everything you need to succeed and flourish. He is also incredibly versatile.
"He will be one of the best defenders in the Premier League and in Europe too in my opinion. He's that good."
