Midfielder having calf problem picked up against City assessed

Blackburn are hoping David Dunn's latest injury will not end the midfielder's season as Rovers fight for Premier League survival. Dunn picked up a calf problem during Monday night's 1-0 home defeat by Manchester City and was replaced by Ruben Rochina in the second half. He is being assessed by Blackburn's medical staff, but is already rated a major doubt for Saturday's derby at home to local rivals Bolton Wanderers. The 31-year-old has made 26 Premier League appearances this season and his experience could be crucial in Rovers' bid to avoid relegation. Rovers boss Steve Kean is waiting to learn the extent of the injury and is keeping his fingers crossed that Dunn will be fit before the season is over. "David felt a strange feeling in his leg and came off," said Kean. "We are hoping it is only fibres, rather than anything more serious."
