Michael Dawson was thrilled by the 'massive' reception he received from Hull fans before their Europa League tie with Lokeren on Thursday.
Dawson signed for Steve Bruce's side on Tuesday after spending nearly 10 years at White Hart Lane, following in the footsteps of older brother Andy, who spent 10 years with the Tigers.
He was paraded at the KC Stadium before the 2-1 win over the Belgians, a result not quite enough to get them into the Europa League group stage.
The former Spurs defender said: "The reception I got on Thursday night was massive, it was a massive welcome.
“I am looking forward to repaying them for signing me and I'm sure the fans will be right behind me.
“He played in every league for them. Now it's down to me to get on with my own career and perform, and I'm sure he will be here supporting me and Hull City whenever he can.
Dawson is the third Tottenham player to sign for Hull under Bruce, following Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.
He added: "I knew a lot of the lads already before I came, they've made me feel welcome.
"I'm good friends with Jake and Tom. But it's not just them, it's the whole football club. I know the city, I know the club. It all played a big part."
Dawson also paid tribute to Bruce: “Tom tells me that he (Bruce) reminds the lads what he’s won. It’s certainly remarkable.
“To come here and work under him, I can only learn from him”
The defender admitted he was sad to leave Spurs and said he had “a fantastic relationship with everyone at the club”
He added: "The fans were fantastic to me - through the hard times as well as the good times.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to them. I look forward to going back there when we play them.”
Dawson will make his debut against Aston Villa on Saturday, replacing the suspended James Chester.
