RANGERS LINKED WITH LEO
The Norwegian has been absent for the entire campaign to date, and recently admitted his situation at White Hart Lane 'is hopeless'.
It is unlikely Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle would stand in his way, and Leonhardsen is in contact with his fellow countryman, Tore Andre Flo at Ibrox.
"I have not played all that many times since moving to Spurs from Liverpool," he said.
On the talk of a possible move to the SPL, the midfielder added: "All I can say is that Rangers are a very big club.
"I have a contract here but sometimes I speak with Tore Andre Flo."
Alex McLeish is sure to assess the current crop at Ibrox before entering the transfer market, but the 2-2 draw at Motherwell on Saturday highlighted the need for change.
There is a vacancy in the Glasgow club`s trenches following the sale of Claudio Reyna to Sunderland, and Leonhardsen could be the man to fill the void.
McLeish, meanwhile, has confirmed that he has been invited to Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson, a person the former Hibernian boss still refers to as `the manager'.
'"I`ve already spoken to the manager," said McLeish, "'He was very positive about it all and he has invited me to come for a chat if I need it."
Ferguson appears happy to help, adding: "Alex knows he is never imposing on me. He has never been afraid to call for advice because of our friendship. It demonstrates his inquisitiveness, how he always wants to learn, and I like that.
"The big test will come when it is time to sign players but I am sure it is his opinion that will matter."
