Tottenham supporters have been warned not to wear their club shirts in Moscow before Tuesday night's Champions League match against CSKA.
Around 250 Spurs fans are travelling to Russia for the game and have been advised by the club as well as the Foreign Office to only show their shirts, flags or banners once they are inside Arena CSKA.
"Please note, for additional personal security, it is suggested you do not show your football colours until you are inside the stadium," a Tottenham statement read.
"Whilst flags and banners are welcome at the stadium, we recommend that they are not openly shown in the city centre."
It will be the first meeting between English and Russian teams since Euro 2016, when supporters clashed before their opening group match in Marseille.
Russia fans also attacked England supporters inside the Stade Velodrome after the sides' played out a 1-1 draw, with many charging into a section designated for the English.
