Winning run snapped

Brian McDermott was happy to see his Reading side take a point against Leeds following a 0-0 draw at Elland Road. The Royals rode their luck at times during the game with Leeds creating the better of the chances, including a Bradley Johnson effort that rattled the bar. Despite seeing an impressive eight-game winning streak come to an end on the night, the Reading manager was happy to capture a point after paying tribute to the home side. While a draw does not help McDermott's men in the race for automatic promotion and second place, it does help further cement fourth place in the play-offs with just three games remaining. "To come here and get a point tonight our lads have put in such a great shift. I was absolutely proud of them," he told Sky Sports. "We kept a clean sheet. We were trying to win the game with the substitutions we made but we've got a point and now we move on. "There was a possibility [Jake Livermore] could have been sent off. I thought he was fortunate but I can't comment on it until I've seen it. "But you had two really good quality sides out there and some real honesty out on the pitch. "I thought Leeds played well and their fans were fantastic and stayed with them throughout the game. "It was a real decent 0-0 game. We've had two 0-0 games with Leeds and both of them were good games. "We're trying to win every game and that's all you can do in this league and all we'll do now is look ahead to the Sheffield United game. "We're right in the mix. It's a great place to be and we're enjoying the football. The fans are enjoying the football they are seeing and we'll try and win the next game."
