Paul Robinson is expecting a backlash from West Brom fans when Bolton travel to The Hawthorns this weekend.
The defender will make his first return to the club since he demanded a move to the Reebok stadium at the start of last season.
And the 31-year-old is gearing up for a barrage of abuse from supporters unhappy at the manner in which he jumped ship.
Robinson told Bolton's
official website: "I'm looking forward to going back to West Brom and seeing some familiar faces. I've got plenty of friends there and it'll be the first time I've been back for a while.
Heart
"They'll be flying following their recent win at Arsenal and are high in the league table, but hopefully that won't be the case after next week.
"We'll take heart from our performance against Manchester United and build on it for the game against West Brom.
"The fans create a great atmosphere at The Hawthorns, but we'll be going there to silence them.
"It's never an easy place to go, but if we continue to show the attitude we have been showing recently, we've got a massive chance of coming away with something."
Stick
Bolton have suffered just one defeat in their last nine outings at The Hawthorns but Robinson, who spent six years with the Baggies, says he will take any abuse on the chin.
He told the
Birmingham Mail: "I hope the supporters appreciate my reasons and my contribution for the previous six years, but if I get stick or banter then I'll take it on the chin.
"I've got nothing but fond memories of West Brom. I had six happy years there.
"We won promotion, we had the Great Escape, we got to the FA Cup semi-final and I like to think that, in the main, I had a great relationship with the fans.
"The best years of my career were at the Hawthorns. But I left the club because I was fed up of us going down, going back up and going down again.
"It was a difficult decision for me but Bolton were offering me Premier League football and I had to look after my family."
