Caretaker boss satisfied with showing
Bolton caretaker manager Archie Knox felt his players gave a decent showing against Arsenal.
The Trotters kept The Gunners out at Emirates Stadium until the 68th minute when Kolo Toure fired in a free-kick from distance.
Arsenal eventually ran out 2-0 winners, but Bolton made life tough for the Premier League leaders until the opening goal.
"It was a credible performance up until the 70th minute and they gave a good account of themselves," Knox told
Sky Sports.
"Arsenal obviously had the majority of the play but we stuck in there and you need to get a goal ahead against the likes of Arsenal and the bigger teams, especially away from home, then it gives you something to hang onto.
"It was disappointing to lose the type of goal we did because they can be preventable and from then it was always going to be a tough call after that."
Anelka absence
Knox admits Bolton missed star striker Nicolas Anelka, who was sidelined by a thigh injury suffered with France.
"He's a perfect player to have in your team when you're playing away from home because you can get it up to him and he has the pace and he has the quality to create something on his own," he said.
"It was unfortunate he gets injured in an international game and was not available for us today."
