Midfielder hit winner against Marseille on Wednesday

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes that he and his team-mates are regaining confidence and is hopeful of having put their disappointing start to the season behind them. The Wales international was speaking after their 1-0 away victory over Marseille in their Champions League Group F fixture on Wednesday evening that saw them gain pole position in the group. The Gunners are now unbeaten in three matches in Europe's premier club competition this season and have picked up seven points, one more than second-placed Marseille. Ramsey scored the winner at Stade Velodrome in injury time to bag the points for Arsene Wenger's side, who are stranded in mid-table in the Premier League on 10 points from eight matches, and is buoyant of having turned their season around. "We haven't had the greatest of starts to the season but, hopefully, we've turned the corner by getting a few wins on the bounce and we want to keep it going," said the 20-year-old.

Momentum

"There is no question our confidence is returning now. "In past games, we could have defended better as a team and it was a bit harsh to blame it on the defence. I thought they did magnificently last night." Arsenal are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Stoke City in the league, and Ramsey wants his team-mates to continue their momentum and make it three competitive wins in a row at the Emirates. "We've done well in Europe so far so we just want to keep the momentum going in the league," he said. "It is important to keep that momentum going and, hopefully, get another win at the weekend."
