Gael Clichy has admitted he would like to see out his career with Arsenal.
Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy has admitted he would like to see out his career with The Gunners.The 21-year-old is currently first choice under manager Arsene Wenger following Ashley Cole's exit to Chelsea last summer.
Clichy is making the most of his chance in the side and is even crossing his fingers on a call-up to the French squad.
"My first objective and priority is Arsenal and to make sure the boss doesn't want to buy any new left-backs," he told the Independent.
"Today I am the number one and I don't want to be the number two again.
"The French team would be a bonus, and if I get called I would be the happiest player in the world."
Clichy has thanked Kolo Toure and Pascal Cygan for helping him settle in London and has admitted he would like to stay for the remainder of his career.
"Kolo Toure and Pascal Cygan helped me a lot, and now if I could stay for ever in London that would be great," he continued.
Meanwhile, in-form Julio Baptista has pleaded with Wenger for a run in the club's Premiership campaign.
The on-loan Real Madrid man has six League Cup goals in his last two games in the competition.
However, Baptista has just three Premiership starts to his name and the Brazilian wants to show what he can do in the league.
"I am in my best form right now and need to exploit that and show what I can do in the Premiership," stated Baptista.
"My goals are not down to good fortune. English football has not seen the real Beast."
