Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina has undergone a successful operation on a double hernia. The non-emergency procedure was carried out in Germany and the Spaniard is not expected to prevent the Spaniard from returning for the start of pre-season training. Reina was an ever-present for Liverpool in the 2010/11 Premier League campaign and it was therefore decided that he would undergo the operation in the summer. A statement on the club's official website read: "Liverpool today confirmed that Pepe Reina has undergone successful surgery on a double hernia. "The decision was taken for the Reds keeper to undergo a non-emergency operation in Munich at the end of the season. "The Spanish international will now begin a rehabilitation programme and is expected to return with the rest of the squad for pre-season training next month."
