We round up the latest Liverpool transfer rumours from around the British and European press on Friday, August 25.

Unsettled Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho may go public with his wish to join Barcelona, according to various reports in the Catalan press.

The player is understood to be weighing up whether to speak about his unhappiness at being denied the chance to move to the Nou Camp.

Meanwhile, Southampton are remaining firm in their insistence that centre-back Virgil van Dijk will not be sold in the transfer window.

The Reds had been hoping to sign the Netherlands international this summer, before the Saints reported Jurgen Klopp's side to the Premier League for allegedly making an illegal approach for the player.
