United new boy thrilled with move

Javier Hernandez has expressed his delight after a deal was agreed for him to join Manchester United in the summer. The Red Devils have yet to secure a work permit for the 21-year-old Mexican striker, who currently plays for Chivas de Guadalajara in his homeland. But they are expected to push through the transfer and Hernandez is relishing the chance to play at Old Trafford. "I feel like I am living a dream," he told MUTV. "All the impressions I have of the club are good and Sir Alex Ferguson is a great person, maybe the best coach in the world." No Mexican has ever played for United before and Hernandez has paid tribute to Chivas for the part they have played in his development.

Chivas pride

"I am very thankful to Chivas for giving me this chance and of course that I am thankful to the president for all this that is happening to me," he said. "I also want to thank my country, (Jorge) Vergara and Angelica Fuentes because they trust in the young Mexican football players." Chivas president Vergara also spoke of his delight at the move, with part of the deal seeing United play a match at the Mexican club's new stadium in pre-season. "I am personally very proud to have the chance to be with Sir Alex Ferguson," Vergara told Mediotiempo. "This is something historical for Mexican football. The fact that Manchester United and Alex Ferguson, one of the best coaches in the world, eyed a player from Mexico makes us very proud. "This transfer marks the start of a relationship with Manchester United. We know that this is only the beginning of a lot of success."
World Cup hope
Before linking up with his new club, Hernandez is hoping to play for Mexico at the World Cup this summer. The youngster has scored four goals in four friendly appearances for El Tri and could be involved in the warm-up game against England at Wembley on 24th May. "I hope to be at the World Cup," Hernandez said. "I have to work hard to win a place in the national team, then I might get a chance to play against England."
