We round up the latest Manchester United transfer rumours on Friday, June 15.

Could Manchester United sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng this summer?

German outlet kicker say Boateng is open to a move away from Bayern, whose CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the 29-year-old can leave if a reasonable offer comes in.

While it is reported that Boateng would prefer a move to Spain, the Manchester Evening News say he is one of eight defenders that United are monitoring.

If not Boateng, then the MEN say United do have plans to move for Juventus defender Alex Sandro.

Meanwhile, United manager Jose Mourinho sounded impressed with Aleksandr Golovin after he starred in Russia's 5-0 World Cup win over Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

Mourinho recently watched CSKA Moscow's Golovin and, working as a pundit for Russia Today, said: "I think Alan Dzagoev was playing quite well, but when he came out, the fact that Golovin could go to a more central position, I think it helped the team. The team became better. Golovin is a playmaker, he's a player that gives the dynamic of the team."

Former France defender Bacary Sagna says Paul Pogba is criticised because he is "gifted".

Pogba's displays for France and Manchester United have come under close scrutiny.

But Sagna told the Evening Standard: "Why is he criticised? Because of his ability. He is gifted, he was born like this and worked really hard. He can do skills that other midfield players can't.

"That's why people see him as a 10 or an 8 but he is playing 6 and when you play there you cannot afford to try some tricks in that area of the pitch. He has ability which is above normal and he can do a lot more offensively but we have other players and it is his job to protect the defence and work with the team."
