Ronald Koeman hailed Southampton's "fantastic achievement" after they beat Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday to match their highest Premier League points tally.
Steven Davis struck twice for the Saints as they came from behind to win at White Hart Lane, ensuring they will at least equal their record of 60 points, achieved last season.
Koeman, who has the highest win percentage in Southampton's Premier League history, believes this campaign will be the best yet if they can beat Crystal Palace on the final day at St Mary's.
"It is a fantastic achievement," Koeman said. "Last season was a special one, but if we win next week this one is even more special.
"It is a great complement to the players because they have done an amazing job. We like to keep it until next week in front of our fans, who were great again today. What a support and I am proud to be manager of Southampton."
Son Heung-min put Spurs in front after 16 minutes but Koeman was pleased with his side's response to falling behind as Davis' double ensured a third consecutive victory.
"After a difficult start we played good football," Koeman added. "We created good chances in the first half, and Tottenham also had a big chance with Harry Kane after a mistake by Jose Fonte before half-time.
"But we kept our belief and after we went 2-1 ahead we had a very strong defensive organisation, and with the counter-attacks we had one or two chances to kill the game.
"It is a great win against a very good side, and that makes it even better."
Southampton confirmed a new deal for Virgil van Dijk earlier this week, and Koeman - who is expected to hold talks over his own future at the end of the season - believes there is a feel-good factor around the club.
"Everybody is happy to be part of Southampton and that means a lot," Koeman added. "The new contract of Virgil is great, at 24 years old he is a fantastic defender."
