Oldham manager Darren Kelly has revealed that the club have released utility player David Mellor.
Former Manchester United trainee Mellor, who joined the club as a 16-year-old, made 62 appearances and scored one goal during his time with Latics. Recently-appointed Kelly told the club's official website: "Dave has been a long-standing member of the first team and it was a hard decision to make. "In this stage of his career I feel it would be better for Dave to seek first-team football elsewhere to progress."
