Barber to help at Burton

Fred Barber has been asked to help out at League Two outfit Burton following the exit of Gary Rowett and his coaching staff.
The former Bolton goalkeeping coach, who has helped nurture talent such as Jussi Jaaskelainen, Adam Bogdan, Ali Al-Habsi and Tomasz Kuszczak, has been asked by Brewers caretaker manager Mike Whitlow to help out this week. Academy boss Whitlow has taken over the reins after Rowett left to become manager at Championship club Birmingham. Rowett's backroom staff at Albion - assistant manager Kevin Summerfield, first-team coach Mark Sale and goalkeeping coach Kevin Poole - will all join him at St Andrew's. Whitlow, 46, will also be assisted by academy coach Neill Hornby, while senior first-team players Ian Sharps and Lee Bell will also lend a hand. Burton begin life after Rowett, who was in charge for two-and-a-half years, with a home fixture against Plymouth in League Two on Saturday.
