Striker pens new deal with La Liga side
Giuseppe Rossi has insisted he is happy at Villarreal amid speculation of a bid from Tottenham on Monday.
The Yellow Submarine, currently sitting third in the Primera Liga, confirmed that Tottenham lodged a deadline day bid of €41million for the highly-rated striker.
The speculative offer came just days after the Italian had agreed a new deal at the Spanish side, signing a contract to keep him at El Madrigal until June 2016.
Rossi represents another player that got away for Harry Redknapp, who missed out on a number of late moves for the likes of Charlie Adam and Phil Neville.
The former Manchester United and Newcastle striker has forged a reputation as one of the hottest striking talents in Europe since his move to Spain, leading his club to value him at €50million.
"I am happy at this club. My objective is to score more goals and I do not have preoccupations about my future," said Rossi.
