What has the manager said?
Brazilian teenage striker Joao Pedro will officially become a Watford player on January 1 after joining from Fluminense.
"Hopefully he will have a positive impact," Watford manager Nigel Pearson told the club website.
"It's important for him to settle in and it's important we don't heap too much pressure on a player of such young years.
"We know he is keen to get started and I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome and get support from the players and the club.
"Let's concentrate on the first-team squad who need to go out and find results in the meantime. We are pleased to have him here and it's important we don't heap too much pressure on a young player."
What did Watford do in the summer?
Watford spent £5.5m bringing in Craig Dawson from West Brom, with Ismalia Sarr and Danny Welbeck joining him in the ranks.
Surprisingly, they did make £18m when Dodi Lukebakio was sold to Hertha Berlin while Tommie Hoban and Miguel Britos were among the released players. Ken Sema, Marc Navarro and Ben Wilmot were also sent out on loan.
Who have they been linked with?
Ricardo Rodriguez, AC Milan [Gazzetto della Sport]; Ignacio Pussetto, Udinese [Gianluca Di Marzio]; Daniel Opare, Royal Antwerp [HITC]; Domagoj Vida, Besiktas [Turkish Football]; Jean-Clair Todibo, Barcelona [Le10Sport];
Who could depart?
Dimitri Foulquier, Granada [Ideal]; Etienne Capoue, Lyon [RMC Sport]
Analysis: What to expect this January
Sky Sports' Gary Cotterill...
"Watford are determined to sign a left-back this winter, having come close to doing so in the summer.
"They had Tottenham's Danny Rose at their training ground on Deadline Day but were unable to agree a deal with Spurs, so the England international stayed put."
