Claude Puel said he had "no comment" to make over his own future after leading Leicester to ninth.
An eighth-placed finish was on the cards for the Foxes after half-time, with Kelechi Iheanacho's fine finish giving them a 3-1 lead at Spurs, and a good chance of finishing above Everton in the league.
However, a second-half collapse, conceding four goals in 27 minutes to lose 5-4, left them with only one win from their final seven games in the league.
But having taken their foot off the gas in previous weeks, and fuelling speculation over Puel's future, Leicester looked every bit a team still fighting for their manager, and the Frenchman himself was in no mood to entertain reports he could be on his way out of the King Power Stadium.
"People can speak, but for me I have no comments about speculation around me," he said. "I just try to keep my concentration and focus around the team, see my players improving and young players become more experienced.
"To structure the club, I think Leicester know just two times in the first part of the Premier League in 18 years, this club need consistency and stability and with a lot of work to continue the development.
"It's not just the players, but the club structure and the owners want to build a new training ground, new stadium and I think it's a young team, that started with a lot of young players, on the bench too, and I hope they will be the future of Leicester. It's important to continue this work."
Leicester and Tottenham contributed to a game which matched the all-time record for goals scored in a single match at Wembley, in a topsy-turvy game which did not appear to have little meaning for either side.
"It's crazy to lose a game where you've scored four goals away," Puel added. "We had to manage things better after our third goal. Normally, with experience and good cover, and good work together you can score other goals and score more on the counter attack.
"It's a shame, it was a crazy game but our first half, like against Arsenal, we played with desire and quality on the floor, scored two fantastic goals and it's a shame to concede and let them back into the game."
