Weekend football permutations: What are the ups and downs in England?
Friday 27 April 2018 16:10, UK
We are approaching the climax of the 2017/18 season, and with trophies, promotions and relegations to be decided, we take a look at what can happen in English football this weekend...
Premier League
West Brom will be relegated if they fail to win at Newcastle or Swansea beat Chelsea.
Stoke City will go down this weekend if they are beaten by Liverpool live on Sky Sports on Saturday - but only if it is accompanied by some unusual results.
Relegation would only be confirmed if Swansea beat Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium in the late kick-off, and Crystal Palace (home to Leicester), Huddersfield (home to Everton) and West Ham (home to Manchester City live on Sky Sports on Sunday) all pick up points.
Sky Bet Championship
Cardiff will be promoted if they win at Hull City on Saturday and Fulham lose at home to already relegated Sunderland the previous night, live on Sky Sports.

The play-off picture could also be finalised; Derby will secure their place in the top six if they beat Aston Villa, Millwall fail to beat Middlesbrough live on Sky Sports on Saturday evening and Brentford do likewise at Barnsley. Middlesbrough must beat Millwall to guarantee their spot.
Barnsley and Burton both need to win to guarantee their hopes of survival. Defeat for Burton, who host fourth-bottom Bolton, will see them relegated, and will also send Barnsley down if they don't beat Brentford. A draw or a Burton win at the Pirelli Stadium would keep both teams in the mix.
Sky Bet League One
Wigan will win the League One title if they beat AFC Wimbledon and Blackburn lose at Charlton.
MK Dons will be relegated unless they beat Scunthorpe and at least two of Oldham (home to Doncaster), Walsall (home to Northampton) and Rochdale (away at Oxford) lose.
Northampton could be down too - if one of Rochdale or Oldham win and AFC Wimbledon pick up a point, they need to beat Walsall.
Sky Bet League Two
A point at home to Lincoln will be enough to see Accrington Stanley crowned League Two champions, regardless of what second-placed Luton can conjure up against Forest Green.
Wycombe Wanderers can end a six-year exile from League One if they beat already-relegated Chesterfield, Exeter (away at Stevenage) lose and Notts County (away at Grimsby) fail to win.
Lincoln City's play-off place will be confirmed in their first season back in the Football League if they pick up a point at Accrington - and if Coventry City (away at Cheltenham) better Mansfield Town's result (away at Yeovil) their top seven spot will be finalised.
Barnet's do-or-die season finale continues, with two wins from three giving them hope of survival - but they need to win at Morecambe to keep their dream alive. Anything but victory will send them down.
