Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to name a strong side against Derby in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Forward Roberto Firmino has recovered from the minor groin injury which kept him out of the win at Chelsea, while goalkeeper Loris Karius will make his long-awaited debut after recovering from a broken hand.

Midfielder Emre Can could get a run out, having not featured because of an ankle problem sustained in the last round.

Derby striker Andreas Weimann could feature at the iPro Stadium as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Matej Vydra and Ikechi Anya are cup-tied having played earlier in the competition for Watford, with both signing for the Rams from the Premier League club during the summer.

Charlie's prediction

This always comes across as dangerous trip for Premier League sides but Derby have obviously taken a long time to get going under Nigel Pearson, which is a little surprising. They finally got a good result at the weekend so they'll see this as an opportunity to build on that positivity.

Liverpool are a dangerous side away from home and imagine they'll play Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino, while they can't really change much at the back, so I fancy them to come through this
