Martyn Margetson has joined England manager Sam Allardyce's backroom staff after relinquishing his role as goalkeeping coach with Wales.
Paul Trollope has also stepped down as coach with Chris Coleman's side in order to concentrate on his duties as Cardiff head coach.
However, Margetson, who has been part of Wales backroom staff for over five years, will combine his England duties alongside Trollope at Cardiff.
The 44-year-old spent three years working with Allardyce at West Ham before leaving to join Cardiff in 2014.
"This is a great opportunity and I am excited to be working alongside Sam again. I know what he can bring to a squad and also to the coaching staff," Margetson told the FA's website.
"England have an outstanding crop of goalkeepers playing at the highest level and I am relishing the chance to work closely with them.
"I would also like to thank [Cardiff owner] Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Paul Trollope and Cardiff City for all of their support."
Allardyce said: "Martyn is one of the best goalkeeping coaches around and I am delighted we have been able to get him."
England's new-look coaching staff will take charge of their first game when England head to Slovakia for a World Cup qualifier in September.
