Striker Sean Maguire believes first-team opportunities at Accrington have him earn a call up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.
The 20-year-old, on loan with Stanley from West Ham, has been brought in to Noel King's group for their qualifying clash with Andorra on Thursday evening. Maguire attributes that recognition from King to the fact he has been playing regularly under John Coleman in east Lancashire this season. "I'm delighted to be called up," he told Stanley's official website. "It's an honour to be recognised by your country and I hope I'll get the chance to play. "First-team football at Accrington has made a huge difference to me this season and I'm grateful to everyone at the club for the opportunity. "To get an international call-up after a great time playing regularly this season is just fantastic."
